Which neumann mic to use with the UA La-610 mkII pre amp?

HI there,
I want to join the neumann family buying a neumann mic.
I use the Universal Audio's La-610 and my recordings usually are limited on male vocals. My budget is up to 1000 maximum.
Any suggestions please!
Thanks a lot!
Regards!

Hello Marcus,

in the price range, TLM102 or TLM103 would be my recommendations. Probably the TLM102 (with EA4 suspension) would be the more suitable choice, as it has roughly 6dB lower sensitivity compared to the TLM103, which has quite a "hot" output. As the UA is not the best in handling very high signal levels [maximum of -8dBu @ 15 dB pad], from a technical point of view, the TLM102 should be the better choice.
And, to check if it fits your voice & expectations, you'd have to try it out.

Best regards,
Martin Schneider / Neumann Mic. Development

You may also want to look at the new TLM 107 which I think will be about 1,000.
