manufacture date of u87?

I just got on ebay an older model, ( I Believe) a u87 with the 3 pin configuration, battery compartment and the serial is 31717.
Its pretty clean with just a few scratches..
All Im wondering is if you could tell me when it was built? Coud it possibly be over 15 years old?
