Hm, good point. Might make sense with the mic placed right in the hole of the outer skin, where you'd find lots of air movement.
In all other places, I'd expect the wind component to be negligible, compared to the massive "thump" made by the drum head. And this "thump" is the wanted signal, right? :-)
