Hi everyone
I work mostly shooting documentaries running around with my Km180 on a boompole. I own, and love, Km184 and a Km185, but I'm thinking"upgrading" to the Km100, so I can take advantage of the modular system and use more patterns. On the other hand I want to star doing some M/s recording and I want to use the KM120 with my km184. Anyway, before burning 3 grands I want to do some research and I have a couple of questions.
- It's there any sonic advantage on the km100 series over the Km180?
- Being a modular design makes the Km100 more sensitive to humidity?
- I use Sound Devices mixer and their Roll Off filter is active before preamps. In this case, is there any advantage on using the KmF power stage?
- Does anybody has experience using the Km120 with a Km185 as a m/s set up?
I would love any help on these topics.
