U89 or TLM 170 for classical piano

Hello,

I'm still looking for my first Neumann microphones pair for classical piano recording at home. I am wondering what would be the best choice between the U89i and the TLM170R. I don't need the remote control offered by the TLM170R and the differences in noise level and sensitivity are not decisive for my application. It seems that a major difference is that one has a transformer and the other one has not. Has this a significant impact on the sonic identities of both these microphones? I read that the highs from the U89 would be smoother, which might be a valuable argument to me for preferring the U89. But it seems that the TLM170R is more often used for classical recording that the U89...
Thanks in advance for your advice,

Didier
