KMS-105 - humidity concerns
Author: Thomas M. Hall

We have a nautical music festival scheduled for a Point Fermin Park in San Pedro, California at the end of June. Point Fermin Park is on the bluffs up above the Pacific Ocean.

We are planning to use our KMS-105s as the prime vocal mics. But two of our performing talent are also long experienced recording engineers. They opine that the KMS-105 will not perform well, and may be damaged, in the potentially salt-sea air of the park.

Any thoughts? These are the best vocal mics in my kit, but I don't want to expose them to any danger. And I don't want to risk anyone's performance with a mic which might have problems in the oceanside environment.

Thanks,
Tom
