yes, i would suggest a pair of spaced omnis on the choir, and for a larger choir, perhaps 3 omnis in a line. mics never hear this kind of stuff the way your ears hear it - it always helps to cover your bets with supplemental micing - you can always choose not to use them in the final mix if you dont need them.
