Yes - I can see that the 131 would be very sweet on piano. I often use a KM-130 pair on pianos with dead upper strings, but on a well-balanced instrument they would be too bright. My other go-to option is a pair of DPA 4006 - slightly brighter than the 131 with the silver grid (around 1.5 db at 8 K, I believe). Schoeps MK2 pairs are also workable, but my ears tell me that the Neumanns deliver the most extended bottom of any mics I've used. The most compelling mic of all, in my experience, was the TLM-50S; I once used a pair on pipe organ, with breathtaking results. One does get spoiled!.
