Re: Bought a TLM 103D how does it work?

Hi John,

Thanks for the fast and detailed response, and all the links, in fact my interface is the UA 25.

Can you help me out with these other questions?

A - If I keep my UA 25 interface, and use the S-PDIF to optical converter, will I experience all the benefits from the Digital Mic, no noise, no loss, digital connection(optical), better sound etc? I know that this way I won't be able to do the synchronization and remote control. But will the D mic make that much of a difference from the analogue?

B - Can I keep my UA 25, as interface and use it with the DMI-2 or portable? I still haven't understood how they work.

C - What if I decide to go digital all the way, Mic + DMI, will I have to buy a new interface or, even better, what else will I have to buy? How to record and monitor?

I confess that I bought the TLM 103 D thinking that it would somehow be best, easiest way to go digital all the way. I even thought that it would be least expensive way to reach high quality recording, much simpler then to buy a mic, a pre amp (avalon for ex), and deal with all the cables, analogue problems, etc.

Thanks for helping me out!
