I have two Neumann TLM103 microphones, one black (S/N 36587) and one silver (S/N55648), both came with EA-4 mountings.
In October 2008 I purchased 2 SG-1 mountings. I find I have to be very, very careful when screwing these on because the threads easily are crossed. I have no damage yet, but it requires care and concentration every time. Not good when artist is kept waiting.
I see that Thomann now offers SG-2 mounts and these fit the TLM103 (same Thomann Artikel-Number!).
What is the difference between the SG-1 and the SG-2?
And more important, does the SG-2 fix this problem? If so, I will purchase two of them.
I have a second question: The electronics of the two microphones is COMPLETELY different! In fact, one has the electrionic parts on the top platine surface and the other on the bottom! Is one fake? They both sound very good and I cannot tell any difference with my ears alone.
