I found a good price on a used U87ai. I compared it to a new one and found that it was equal in performance in Cardoid and Omni but not in figure 8, i.e. the back side had more low end than the front side below approximately 200Hz. I would like to get any comments on what the issue might be and the potential repair cost range. Speculation is fine, I won't hold anyone to their diagnoses.
