I agree that it's a pretty small distance from the base of the basket to the capsule, but I swear that I hear it. It may be more than .1 ms because I may not be hearing the first reflection, but I may be hearing the result of several bounces around the basket. I'm not sure.
I have tried different mic positions. I'm currently using the one foot out, one foot up, pointed down at the sound hole approach.
But, I can hear the effect in the tlm 103 acoustic guitar samples in the Zen Pro Audio clipilator, as well as my own tracks. If you listen very carefully to the attack of the picked notes, you can hear that there is a set of "hits" for each note that are very closely spaced.
They don't sound bad in the Zen samples, but in my poorly treated room, they seem to pick up and accentuate the edgy quality of the space.
