Let me start by saying I think Neumann makes some of the best sounding mics on the planet, past and present, and the KM184 as well sounds quite outstanding to my ears. But brand new out of the box the included mic clip, which felt rather cheaply made, severely scratched and damaged the finish on the mic. I ended up returning it to the dealer as defective. Later I purchased a competing and less expensive small diaphragm condenser and was pleasantly surprised by the included smooth rubber mic clip. But the sound quality is nowhere as natural as the KM184. I'm sure the economic factors in producing such a high quality mic as the KM184 and keeping the price reasonable makes it necessary to reduce costs elsewhere, such as the mic clips, but I'm sure all Neumann fans would pay a few extra dollars for a better included mic clip. Is it possible to improve that aspect of the product?
