Okay, So there's way too much conflicting information out there about the effects of switching polar patterns, pad, and HPF on the U87 AI while running them hot with phantom power.
1. Will there be damage in the long run switching settings (Polar Patterns, Pad, HPF) while the U87 AI has Phantom Power running through to it?
2. Could there be any potential damage to the U87 AI switching polar patterns, Pad, or HPF while running Phantom Power?
3. Should phantom power be turned OFF in order to safely switch settings (Polar Patterns, Pad, HPF) on the U87 AI?
This is a very important question since the whole audio/electronics industry seems to be confused. There's way too many myths and suggestions.
I need to know what's the safest way to use and operate these microphones since they're always out on the road everyday. Unfortunately the manual does not specify on how to operate the U87 AI in detail. Please get back to me ASAP. THANK YOU!
