Studio monitors FAQ

There is no reason why all speakers should not be switched on at the same time using a common power switch. In the studio environment, this is even common practice. The loudspeakers will not be damaged.

However, it is important to ensure that the inrush current does not trigger the circuit breakers or exceed the maximum current in the relays used in the power switch.

To enable them to be switched on and off in this constellation, the loudspeakers are:

  • Equipped with an inrush current limitation, so that the inrush current peak is kept within limits
  • Provided with a switch-on mute function, so that other audio devices in the signal path that are switched on at the same time do not produce audible clicks
  • Provided with a switch-off mute function that mutes the audio signal so quickly that any switch-off clicks generated by other devices are effectively suppressed
