Neumann Microphones
From the legendary U 47 of the 1950s and 60s to the ever-popular U 87 and the modern TLM-line, Neumann microphones have shaped the sound of your favorite records, no matter what generation or genre.
Because every artist is different, Neumann sound comes in many flavors:
- Black badge: condenser microphones with tube circuitry for legendary sound
- Purple badge: condenser microphones with FET technology and output transformer for classic sound
- Red badge: condenser microphones with FET technology and transformerless output. The TLM line offers two flavors:
- three-digit model number for pristine, modern sound
- two-digit model number for a retro vibe with tube-inspired sound
- Green badge (BCM 705 only): dynamic microphone = sturdy, easy handling
For different applications, Neumann offers different types of microphones:
- U, M and TLM lines: Large diaphragm condenser microphones for vocals and featured instruments
- KM line – small diaphragm condenser microphones. Very versatile microphones primarily used for instruments
- KMS line and KK capsule heads – wired and wireless stage microphones bringing studio quality to live events
- MCM – Miniature Clip Microphone System – Neumann sound for close miking instruments on stage
- BCM line – Broadcast microphones for radio and podcast
- Stereo Microphones: the famous KU 100 binaural head and the USM 69 stereo microphone
