Advanced Cues Management
Ovation cues can be triggered by almost anything — a button press on its customizable user interface, another internal cue, a command from a third-party system, or even from another Ovation system.
Cues can do just about anything: play any type of audio direct from Ovation, open a live microphone via the internal mixer, recall mixer presets or automation, trigger video playback from a Dataton server, launch fireworks — the possibilities are endless.
Adjusting a show is easy!
During show rehearsals, last-minute adjustments are inevitable. The creative glue is still setting, and the magic is still forming — changes need to happen fast. There's no time to re-export and re-import between applications.
With Ovation, recording audio directly into a cue is simple, no matter the format. Editing is just as smooth, thanks to a tight integration with Merging Technologies’ Pyramix DAW. With the push of a button, a cue can be opened in Pyramix, edited in detail, and sent straight back to Ovation — instantly.
No need to fear changes — embrace them. The show can be fine-tuned down to the last detail, effortlessly.
This flexibility also applies to automation. For example, accurately writing pan automation is often only possible once you're in the venue.
Recording new automation into a cue is just as straightforward.
Built-in Mixer
Ovation features a powerful integrated audio mixer, supporting up to 128 I/O in Native mode. When powered by the MASSCORE engine, this expands to an impressive 384 I/O, with ultra-low latency that enables real-time mixing of live inputs — just like a digital console or dedicated DSP.
Out of the box, Ovation provides “Strip Tools” — a high-quality EQ and dynamics section. The mixer also supports VST and VS3 plugins, offering a wide array of audio processing and effects options.
Next Gen Immersive Audio
Ovation supports all forms of next-generation audio: bus-based, scene-based, and object-based.
Traditional bus formats are fully supported — from mono and stereo to 5.1, 7.1, and even up to 30.2 channels.
Ambisonics is supported up to 7th order, offering full flexibility for immersive workflows.
To make it easy to import object based cues carefully crafted by creatives, Ovation supports the ADM-OSC format.
Objects can be rendered either using 3rd party renderers such as Flux Spat (Spat license not included) or Merging Technologies’ built-in renderer.
This internal engine allows users to define custom speaker layouts — supporting up to 384 discrete speaker outputs with MASSCORE.
Ovation can downmix any format to any other, making it easy to play a mix of cues in different formats (e.g., ambisonic, object-based) into a common output such as a 5.1 system.
Show Controls the way you need it and where you need it
Ovation not only lets you build highly complex shows — it also helps you keep everything under control with a stress-free, graphical interface that displays only what you need, exactly where you need it.
The control interface is fully customizable, so you can focus only on the cues relevant to you.
Ovation also runs a webserver which means that the custom user interface can be made available to a tablet or smartphone on the network.
Redundancy for utmost reliability
Ovation is often the heart of a production — and as such, it's mission-critical.
To ensure continuity in case of a power loss or unexpected issue on the primary system, a secondary Ovation system can be configured to follow the main one as a failsafe.
Integration
Ovation supports HUI, Avid EUCON, and may even be controlled by Lawo and Stagetec consoles.
Industry standard protocols
With support for a wide range of control protocols such as MIDI, OSC, LTC/MTC, RS-422, and TCP/IP, Ovation can communicate seamlessly with all devices running the show.
Ultra-high Resolution
Staying true to Merging Technologies’ design philosophy, Ovation supports ultra-high-resolution audio formats such as DSD256, DXD, and 384 kHz.
When paired with Merging Technologies interfaces and the MASSCORE engine, Ovation provides the perfect signal chain with ultra-low latency and no compromise on audio quality.
